Scott Tom studied Business Administration, Finance, and Management at the University of Montana and applied his educational experience towards a successful business career. Scott Tom earned his double major in 2002, graduating with a 3.7 GPA. Along with Scott Tom, University of Montana alumni include Nobel prize chemist Harold Urey and Barack Obama's Deputy White House Chief of Staff Jim Messina. The same year he graduated from UM, Scott Tom developed his first company, a software business providing unique client services. Scott Tom managed product development for the company, ensuring that its customer offerings maintained healthy growth rates and met corporate goals. During his time in college, Scott Tom conducted an impressive range of volunteer work. Tom supported the Boys and Girls Club of Missoula, which offered programs to help local kids interact and develop important social and education skills. The volunteer efforts of Boys and Girls Club supporters like Scott Tom allowed the organization to provide a safe and positive environment for promoting overall community youth health. Scott Tom also participated in the Adopt-a-Highway Litter Control program, which prevented unsightly trash buildup along the area's highways. Scott Tom's volunteer efforts helped both the environmental and cultural health of the Missoula area and exhibited his dedication to community involvement and support that still guides his actions today.
